Rural Maryland Council Grant
Thanks to funding from the Rural Maryland Council grant, New Horizons was able to purchase 2 Dodge Caravans, each seating 8 participants, to assist with transporting those living in Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties to employment-related activities -including taking them to paid community-based jobs in retail, food service, customer service, clerical, and environmental services. Our job developers work closely with our participants to assist them with resume writing, researching job opportunities that interest them, transporting them to interviews and teaching courses in job readiness skills.
